If someone asked you what the best day of you life was what would you say?
Someone asked me that the other day. I didn’t know what to say because I’ve never really put much thought into it. I’ve had a lot of good days. I’ve had a lot of bad days. It was too hard to answer at the moment so I just said, “I don’t know. I’ll have to think about it.”
I thought about that the rest of the day. What is the criteria for a good day? What about a best day? I don’t know if there is a definitive answer to that. After a lot of thought I came to a conclusion. It doesn’t really matter what happens in your day. Your day being “good or bad” is based on how you feel. How you feel is based on what you are focusing on. Are you focusing on all the problems you have? Or are you focusing on what is good in your life? No matter how bad things are I’m sure you can find something to be thankful for. Focus on the good in your life.
That’s when it hit me. You don’t live in the past. It’s gone. The future is ahead of you. All you ever have is right now. What you do “right now” creates your past. What you do “right now” creates your future. Could I choose to be happy right now? Yes. Could I choose to make this the best day of my life? Yes. It’s all just a decision. You can make tomorrow better than today. The day after that can be better than both. So.. Why not make today the best day of your life?
